Teaching Elder Miguel D'Azevedo

Miguel D'Azevedo is a dual citizen of the United States and Brazil. Miguel is married to Hannah who is a U.S. citizen raised on the mission field in West Africa. Together, they have three children, aged 6 years, 3 years and newborn. Miguel earned a degree in business administration in 2002, after which he founded and managed a company for 10 years. During these years he was also very active in church; as Miguel’s call to the ministry became more apparent, he began pursuing a Bachelor of Theology which he completed in 2016. 

In 2017, Miguel was sent by his presbytery to pursue an MDiv. at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. While at GPTS, Miguel was under care of Calvary Presbytery and a pastoral intern at Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church under the mentorship of Pastor Carl Robbins. 

In 2020 he was licensed to preach by Calvary Presbytery, and after graduating with his MDiv. in 2021 began a pastoral internship at the Independent Presbyterian Church of Savannah under the mentorship of Pastor Terry Johnson. 

In 2022 Miguel was ordained and installed by the Southeast Alabama Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America to be the pastor of the Okinawa Covenant Presbytery Church. 

 
 

Ruling Elder Justin Harris

The Harris family has been at OCC since July 2021. Justin is originally from Alabama and Jaclyn from California. They have been married 11 years and are blessed with four children, Lucy, Griffin, Molly and Ada. Justin is a Marine, currently serving as a ruling elder, and Jaclyn homeschools the three oldest children.

Nick Kantas

Nick Kantas hales from Houston, TX and has been worshipping at OCC since arriving to Okinawa in February 2021. Nick is an Army Officer and has been serving as a deacon since June 2022.
